A sergeant from eastern region has been charged following an internal investigation.
The male officer has been charged with two counts of unlawful assault.
The charges are in relation to an incident in Shepparton on 28 February while the member was on duty.
The 48-year-old will appear in Shepparton Magistrates' Court on 11 August.
