Series of cigarette burglarlies in Cardinia

Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a series of burglaries on service stations where in excess of $100 000 worth of cigarettes have been stolen.

On each occasion, the male offender forces his way through the roof before cutting the locks to the cigarette cabinets and stealing large quantities of packets of cigarettes.

Investigators believe the same man is responsible for the following burglaries on closed businesses:

3 July 4.15am South Gippsland Highway, Lang Lang

19 July 4am South Gippsland Highway, Koo Wee Rup

25 July 3am Thompsons Road, Lyndhurst

20 August 4am South Gippsland Highway, Koo Wee Rup

1 October 4am South Gippsland Highway, Koo Wee Rup

On the last occasion, it is believed a second man waited outside and assisted with carrying bags of cigarettes to a waiting vehicle.

The first man is described to be aged about 25-35-years-old, 178cm tall with a slim/athletic build.

The second man is described to be 30-40-years old, 178 cm tall with a solid build.

Investigators have released an images and CCTV of the men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
