Series Of Smash And Grabs Across Mornington Peninsula

Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a series of linked smash and grab incidents across the Mornington Peninsula early this morning.

Police were called on each occasion following reports a group of up to four males smashed their way into closed service stations on Tuesday 9 July between 12.10 and 1.05am.

It is believed the offenders used a hammer to smash the front windows of the stores to gain entry before they made off with quantities of cigarettes and prepaid mobile phones.

The five locations targeted include petrol stations in:

• Frankston Flinders Road in Tyabb

• two stores on Moorooduc Highway, Moorooduc

• Arthurs Seat Road, Red Hill and

• Point Nepean Road in Tootgarook.

The offenders, who have been described as teenagers, were wearing dark clothing and were last seen leaving the incidents in a grey Mazda sedan.
