Serious Assault Charges - Northbridge

Perth Detectives have charged two men following an incident that occurred in Northbridge yesterday, Friday 6 September 2024.
About 1.20am, two men – aged 19 and 20 – were involved in a physical altercation with two other men – aged 23 and 25 – on Francis Street, before the parties separated and left the scene.
A short time later, the two groups approached each other on James Street, and another physical altercation occurred.
During this altercation, the younger men were both seriously assaulted and left unconscious on the footpath.
They were taken to Royal Perth Hospital via St John WA for treatment of serious injuries.
Following a report from a member of the public, Perth Bicycle Police located and arrested the older men in Northbridge just minutes after the incident.
Both were charged with two counts of with intent to harm, did act causing bodily harm.
The 23-year-old man was also charged with impeded another person's breathing normal breathing or blood circulation by applying pressure to neck.
The Ridgewood men were refused bail and appeared in Perth Magistrates Court yesterday, Friday 6 September 2024. They are both next due to appear in the same court on Friday 4 October 2024.
