Police and emergency services crews are at the scene of a serious crash on the Yorke Highway after a car and road train collided near Port Arthur in the State's mid-north.
Just before 5am on Tuesday 19 May, a car travelling east on the Yorke Highway collided head-on with a road train travelling west, about 4kms west of the Copper Coast round-about and about 17kms north-west of Port Wakefield.
The driver of the car has critical injuries with a Medivac helicopter landing at the scene to convey the injured person to Adelaide for treatment. The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
The Yorke Highway is closed for all traffic heading to and from Ardrossan while the crash is being managed. Please avoid the area if possible.
