Serious injury crash, Meridian Plains

Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash in Meridian plains, that has left one teenager with serious injuries.

Early information indicates the car was being driven on Pierce Avenue at about 4pm when the vehicle left the unsealed road and collided with a tree.

The 17-year-old female driver and two female passengers aged 16 and 17-years-old had minor injuries.

A 17-year-old Aroona boy had to be freed from the car by emergency services.

He was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and then transferred to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with critical injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
