A man has been seriously injured after a crash in Sydney's south west.
About 2.30am today (Monday 12 February 2024), emergency services responded to reports that a vehicle had crashed into a fence along Campbelltown Road, Bardia.
The front seat passenger – a 59-year-old man – was trapped in the vehicle for over an hour until released by officers from Fire and Rescue NSW.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
The 41-year-old male driver was assessed by paramedics and was also taken to Liverpool Hospital as a precaution.
Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command established a crime scene that is presently being examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Campbelltown Road - between Borneo Street and Soldiers Road - is currently closed in both directions and the roadway is expected to remain a crime scene for a considerable amount of time. Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
