Police are seeking public assistance to identify a truck involved in a traffic incident north of Nanango last night which has left a man seriously injured, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary information suggests around 6.15pm a car travelling northbound on the Burnett Highway collided with a metal object which fell from a truck heading southbound, around 26 kilometres north of Nanango.
The object went through the car windscreen and struck the 48-year-old male driver in the head, causing serious injury.
The 46-year-old male passenger of the car transported the injured man to Goomeri to seek further assistance.
He was taken to Kingaroy Hospital and then airlifted to Brisbane in a stable condition.
Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the crash occur or the driver of a flatbed truck with a New Holland round baler and hay raker on the back (pictured) which travelled through the area at the time.
It is possible the driver may not know they were involved in a crash.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
