Seven Charged And Three Stolen Cars Recovered

Police have arrested seven teens and recovered three allegedly stolen cars after following them through multiple suburbs in Melbourne's south this morning.

An allegedly stolen Audi SQ5 was travelling at speed, with a broken window and no plates, on Princes Freeway in Officer about 1.05am.

The vehicle was followed along the freeway, before police lost sight of it.

The Audi was spotted a short time later near Parkhill Drive, travelling in convoy with an allegedly stolen Toyota Prado.

Air Wing, along with Operation Trinity units and Uniform police on the ground, followed the two vehicles onto the Monash Freeway at alleged speeds of up to 200km/h.

The Toyota was dumped on the Monash Freeway near Church Street in Richmond where the occupants allegedly got into the Audi.

The Audi then fled and continued into Footscray, where it drove in convoy with an allegedly stolen white BMW sedan.

The Audi and BMW were followed by Air Wing and Critical Incident Response Team officers outbound on the Monash Freeway.

The offenders allegedly abandoned the Audi, before fleeing inbound in the BMW.

Police tracked the BMW near a shopping centre in Malvern East a short time later.

The BMW was allegedly abandoned on Nangana Road, Murrumbeena and the occupants fled on foot.

Police located seven people nearby who were arrested.

They were all taken into custody and interviewed by Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives.

A 17-year-old boy from the Casey area has been charged with aggravated home invasion and theft of motor vehicle.

He was remanded to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 13-year-old boy from the Glen Eira area has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He was bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

An 18-year-old Mentone man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He was remanded to appear before Dandenong Magistrates' Court today.

A 17-year-old boy from the Greater Dandenong area has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail

He was bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 17-year-old girl from the Baw Baw area has been charged with theft of motor vehicle

She was bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 17-year-old boy from the Stonnington area has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He was bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 13-year-old boy from the Casey area has been charged with theft of motor vehicle.

He was bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

The Audi was allegedly stolen during a home invasion in Berwick on 7 April.

The Toyota was allegedly stolen from Truganina on 26 March.

It is alleged the BMW was also stolen from Narre Warren South on 6 April.
