Seventh Suspect Charged in Major Theft Probe

A seventh person has been charged following an investigation into the large-scale theft from properties throughout NSW.

In October 2023, officers attached to The Rural Crime Prevention Team (RCPT) and Central West Police District established Strike Force Subdivision, to investigate the large-scale theft of heavy machinery, plants, prime movers, and other equipment across the state.

Three men and three women have since been charged, with four people already dealt with in court, and two people remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, about 9.45am yesterday (Wednesday 25 September 2024), rural crime investigators attached to Central West Police District attended a correctional facility and transferred a 19-year-old man to Bathurst Police Station.

He was charged with use, supply stolen firearm or firearm part, and possess unauthorised firearm.

The man appeared at Bathurst Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 25 September 2024), where he was formally refused bail to reappear at Parkes Local Court on Thursday 17 October 2024.
