Severe weather warning in place, SA

Please take care on the roads! The Bureau of Meteorology still has a severe weather warning in place for damaging winds and heavy rainfall in the Adelaide metropolitan, Mt Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands and parts of the Yorke Peninsula, Mid North and Upper South East districts, according to SA Police.

Locations which may be affected include Kingscote, Adelaide, Murray Bridge, Gawler, Victor Harbor, Lameroo and Renmark.

A band of rain associated with the low will move eastwards and ease later this afternoon. Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely over Kangaroo Island and the Mount Lofty Ranges districts.

Please note SA Planning, Transport and Infrastructure has also closed all metro jetties until further notice.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;

* Secure or put away loose items around your property.

* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water;

* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains;

* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
