Sex Assault Squad Detectives Charge Man

Sex Assault Squad detectives have charged a man in relation to an incident that occurred in February 2024 in which an intellectually disabled man was allegedly indecently assaulted by a carer.

It will be alleged in early February 2024 the victim, who is aged in his 40's and requires 24/7 supervised care, was inside his share home in the Perth metropolitan area when he was indecently assaulted by a carer employed to provide overnight supervision and care to residents.

Detectives from the Sex Assault Squad travelled to Broome on Thursday 13 June 2024, after coordinating the arrest of a 49-year-old man in a remote community.

The 49-year-old man was charged with the offence of 'Indecently Dealt with Incapable Person', and is next due to appear before the Fitzroy Crossing Magistrates Court on 9 July 2024.
