Embracing the vibrant spirit of volunteerism and community engagement, Seymour is set to host the inaugural HOPE Community Day and Volunteer Expo on Saturday 25 May.
Hosted by the Seymour Community Recovery Committee, the Expo aims to showcase the wide array of volunteer organisations in Seymour, offering a platform for residents to explore and connect with meaningful opportunities.
The day will be filled with free activities, including face painting, a jumping castle and inflatables, and a sausage sizzle complemented by free tea and coffee.
The event not only highlights the fun aspect of community involvement but also underscores the profound impact of volunteering.
Community Recovery Committee Chair Neil Beer said the expo is a fantastic chance for Seymour residents to see firsthand how volunteering makes a significant difference in the community.
"Volunteering is about giving, contributing, and helping those who need it. It is working together to make a positive change in society and creating a community that cares for one another," he said.
"This Expo brings that ethos to the forefront, making it tangible and accessible for everyone in Seymour."
Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor Louise Bannister encouraged community members to join in this family-friendly event.
"It's a wonderful chance to celebrate and engage with the local volunteer organisations that shape the heart of Seymour," she said.
"It's a great way to thank them and find out how you can get involved and support them in the important work they do."
Scheduled for Saturday 25 May, from 10 am to 2 pm at 4 Guild Street, this event promises an enriching experience for families and individuals alike.
