The timetable for the upgrade of Shannons Flat Road has been set, with Snowy Monaro Regional Council staff and contractors commencing work on-site in September 2024.

Local residents and rural motorists will soon enjoy a range of significant improvements along the 4km section of Shannons Flat Road between Bobeyan Road and Callemondah Road, thanks to this latest road upgrade project from Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

Joining major works already underway on Dry Plains Road, this upgrade of Shannons Flat Road is the second and final local project to be proudly funded by the NSW Government's Fixing Local Roads Program Round 3.

Key project details:

  • 4km of road to be upgraded
  • Works expected to take 4-6 months, weather permitting
  • Project funded by NSW Government Fixing Local Roads Program Round 3
  • Will improve road safety and reduce ongoing maintenance costs

Motorists are advised to expect some delays while this work is underway. Remember to always drive to the conditions and follow the direction of roadwork signage and traffic control workers.

This important upgrade will deliver more reliable journeys for locals and visitors using Shannons Flat Road.

Council thanks the NSW Government for their funding support, and appreciates the patience and cooperation of local residents and motorists during this important project.

Further project updates will be provided as work progresses.
