Shellharbour City Youth Festival Kicks Off

The Shellharbour City Youth Festival is now underway with a full program of fun events for 12 to 25 year-olds.

Activities and events are being held across Shellharbour City from Friday 1 April to Saturday 30 April, including workshops, markets, exhibitions, entertainment and more.

Highlights include Kiki's Open Mic Night on Friday 8 April, a local talent show for young performers to showcase their talents or come along as an audience member.

The Civic Centre Market will be held on Saturday 9 April, where young people can host a stall to showcase their creative talents.

The Youth Week Art Exhibition launches on Monday 11 April, displaying artworks created by local young people. The community can come along to meet the artists, learn about their artworks and celebrate their talent.

Other activities include a DJ Workshop with Nick from Music Farmers, cooking with Holli Kempton and drag makeup with Ellawarra.

The Youth Festival will end with a festival finale party at Harrison Park on Friday 29 April with free giant inflatables, rides, games, food trucks and an outdoor cinema.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the event was a great way for young people to learn new skills, have some fun, share their talents and meet new friends.

"The Shellharbour City Youth Festival is a wonderful way to celebrate the young people in Shellharbour. There are loads of great activities planned and I look forward to seeing the community enjoy this fun local event," Mayor Homer said.
