Shoalhaven Libraries is leading the way in contactless self-service, with the facility being one of the first libraries in the world to offer contactless checkout of materials within the Shoalhaven Libraries App.
Shoalhaven Libraries Manager, Sarah Taylor was thrilled to be one of the first libraries to offer the service during these challenging times of coronavirus.
"Shoalhaven Libraries is proud of its response to current health concerns, with the introduction of an innovative, yet simple, way for library users to safely and easily checkout library resources.
"The health and safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority. The app functionality allows library members to simply tap the item they wish to borrow with their personal smartphone, without the use of any additional hardware," Ms Taylor said.
Developed in collaboration with SOLUS, a library technology company, the Shoalhaven Libraries App provides a one-stop shop for all library services. By using the app, library users can deactivate RFID security without using a public kiosk or any other hardware.
"I would encourage all library users to download the free Shoalhaven Libraries App to access this functionality. Limiting contact with public items and surfaces helps to make the library experience safer and simpler in these health and germ conscious times." Ms Taylor said.
Download the app easily by searching for Shoalhaven Libraries on the i0S Apple Store or Google Play Store - depending on your device. Not a member? Visit the Shoalhaven Libraries website: https://www.shoalhavenlibraries.com.au or pop into your nearest library branch to join.
