A man has been shot following a shooting incident in North Lakes last night, March 24.

Initial information indicates around 9.40pm, emergency services were called to a carpark on Lakefield Drive following reports a man had been shot in the chest.

A 42-year-old man was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene was declared, and investigations are underway.

Preliminary investigations indicate there is no threat to public safety.
