Latrobe City Council is celebrating Main Streets of Australia Week from 18 - 21 May, encouraging the community to support small businesses by shopping local.
Main Streets of Australia is a national campaign that shines a light on the significant contribution that small businesses have on their communities.
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said Main Streets of Australia Week is a great reminder to continue to support businesses in our own communities.
"Businesses within our main streets and town centres make an enormous contribution to our community. It is important for us to continue ensure ongoing opportunities for the success of these precincts across Latrobe City," said the Mayor.
"These businesses are such an important element of our collective business community, providing a huge number of jobs, especially to those that rely on local or flexible work, supporting local sporting groups and schools as well as building connections and providing activated spaces that are accessible and welcoming for locals and visitors."
As part of the Main Streets of Australia Week celebrations in Latrobe City, Council is giving the community the chance to win a share of Latrobe City Gift cards.
To enter, all you need to do is make a purchase of any amount at participating businesses across Latrobe City between 18 - 21 May and head to the TRFM and GOLD1242 street teams for a chance to win.
Community members will also benefit from special offers during Main Streets of Australia week such as store discounts or complimentary experiences.
TRFM's street team will be in the following towns giving away prizes across the week:
• Tarwin St, Morwell - Thursday 18 May
• Moe Library forecourt - Friday 19 May
