Shorebirds In Spring

If you're heading to the beach to enjoy the warmer weather please watch out for our local shorebirds who are in the middle of their nesting season.

This includes the endangered Pied Oystercatcher.

Of course our beautiful coastline also hosts plenty of other native birds, such as Black Cockatoos and Fairy Wrens.

So, keep an eye out for these amazing animals.

Also, please make sure you help by avoiding damage to the coastal vegetation and sand dunes they call home.

Many of these are themselves fragile ecosystems, with plants easily trampled by unwary feet.

This includes our four-legged friends.
