Just before 3pm on Monday 10 June, patrols spotted a black Holden Barina travelling at speed on Morphett Road in the city.
The Barina failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Morphett Road and Sturt Street. Police attempted to stop the car on Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue however it took off at speed. Patrols stopped following the Barina as it headed south towards Greenhill Road.
The Barina was seen to attempt a left-hand turn to head east on Greenhill Road however it collided with a Mitsubishi ASX.
The driver and sole occupant of the Barina ran from the scene. Patrols gave chase and arrested him a short distance away.
A 30-year-old man from Adelaide was charged with dangerous driving to escape a police pursuit and hinder police.
Fortunately no one was injured as a result of the incident.
