The Wimmera's young people are being encouraged to show their hands in the lead up to National Reconciliation Week (NRW) from Thursday 27 May until Monday 3 June.
Kids can grab a craft pack and decorate a paper hand with supplied pencils or any other craft items they have and then have their artwork feature in a large-scale display at Horsham Town Hall and Art Gallery.
The activity supports the broader NRW theme for 2021 which is More Than a Word. Reconciliation takes Action.
Craft packs are available at Bunnings, Horsham Regional Art Gallery and Kalkee Road Children's Hub. You can also come into the Horsham Town Hall and Art Gallery between 10am and 12pm Thursday 6 and 13 May to decorate the hands.
To be part of the display, kids need to return their hands by Monday 17 May to the Kalkee Road Children's Hub, Yarriambiack Shire Council Office, the Horsham Regional Art Gallery or Bunnings.
Horsham Rural City Council and Yarriambiack Shire Council have teamed up with Wimmera Primary Care Partnership, Federation University, Western Victoria Primary Health Network, Skillinvest and Women's Health Grampians to deliver the initiative.
