Farmers are calling on Sydney families to make the trip out to the Royal Easter Show and learn more about where the food in their fridge comes from.
From 11-22 April, the country and city come together at Sydney Showground for twelve days of agricultural competitions, animal experiences, live entertainment, carnival fun, shopping and much more.
NSW Farmers Vice President Rebecca Reardon said the Easter Show was the perfect opportunity for school children to find out more about how their food and fibre is grown by Aussie farmers.
"We'd love every child and their family to have the chance to experience how almost all the delicious meals they enjoy are grown right in here in Australia," Mrs Reardon said.
"NSW produces everything from eggs to oysters, and farmers of all kinds of food will be out in force at the show, ready to answer your questions about all things food and fibre."
More than 400 different breeds of animals will be on-site at this year's event, and Mrs Reardon encouraged families to take advantage of all the agricultural attractions on offer this Easter Show.
"The joy of petting lambs, seeing ducklings waddle and watching the working dairy in action is simply unmatched, and we'd love to see Sydney schoolkids join the fun," Mrs Reardon said.
"Truly, there is no better showcase of our state's food and fibre than the Sydney Royal Easter Show - and this year will be no exception.
"Generations of hard work and knowledge has gone into this industry that's so capable of feeding and clothing our growing nation, and we're here to share that story."
