Victoria has named its 13-player traveling squad for Friday's Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at Adelaide Oval.
Chris Rogers' side will look to continue its strong form, chasing its second win of the season following last week's comprehensive win over a strong NSW side at the MCG.
Bowlers Scott Boland, Todd Murphy and Fergus O'Neill, and batsman Marcus Harris will miss the Round 3 encounter due to Australia A commitments, providing Victoria with an exciting early opportunity to test its impressive depth against quality opposition.
Peter Siddle has been recalled, while Melbourne University star, Doug Warren, has been named to play his first match of the season, covering for Todd Murphy.
Siddle has been one of Australia's most impressive domestic bowlers this season, headlined by last week's Player of the Match performance against NSW, where the thirty-nine-year-old claimed 5/49 off 9 overs.
The experienced fast bowler will complement Victoria's young bowling lineup, with Cam McClure, Sam Elliott and Mitch Perry all selected.
Perry shapes as a player to watch this weekend, with the twenty-four-year-old one of Victoria's star performers when these two sides met last season, claiming 8 wickets, including 5/64.
Rising stars Campbell Kellaway and Tom Rogers will look to follow up their strong performances from last week's Shield win.
Facing a world-class attack which included Australian stars Mitch Starc, Sean Abbott and Nathan Lyon, both players displayed maturity beyond their years, recording fighting half-centuries on a lively wicket.
Victorian Captain, Will Sutherland, said it was exciting to see the next generation of Victorian players come through the ranks and make a fast impact on the first-class stage.
"We're excited for this week's game and really happy where we're at as a group," said Sutherland.
"It's been great to see the development of some of our younger players. That partnership with Sam Harper and Tom Rogers last week on Day 3 was really pleasing. Having a young guy stand up against a quality attack was good to see.
"Campbell Kellaway is another one as well, these young batters being able to find their feet at this level has been great."
Victoria play South Australia in Round 3 of the Sheffield Shield season beginning at 11 AM AEDT. The match can be seen on Kayo Sports and cricket.com.au.
