Siege at St Marys: Critical Incident, Man Injured

A critical incident investigation has been declared after a man was injured during a siege at St Marys overnight.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command attended Adams Crescent shortly after 3pm (Wednesday 23 April 2025), inquiring about a man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.

The man refused to leave the premises and an operation involving specialist police, including negotiators, commenced.

About 8.20pm, officers attached to the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS) entered the home and found the man, aged in his 50s, suffering self-inflicted injuries.

A taser was deployed and the man was arrested and taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition under police guard.

A critical incident team from Riverstone Police Area Command will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will be subject to independent review.
