Siege Resolved Peacefully In Eltham

A man has been arrested following a siege and successful police negotiations in Eltham overnight.

Police swiftly responded to reports of a man making threats towards another man on Napolean Street about 9pm.

Officers arrived at an address and the man making threats refused to leave the property.

Police established that no one else was inside the house with the man and cordoned off the surrounding area, ensuring public safety.

After lengthy negotiations conducted by officers on the scene, the man left the property peacefully about 12.30am.

A 40-year-old Eltham man was arrested and will be interviewed by police.

No one was physically injured.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.
