Swan Hill Rural City Council has made significant strides in its managed projects over the past quarter, from June to September 2024.
Council's Mayor, Cr Stuart King said among the major achievements are the award of contracts for the Art Gallery Redevelopment Works and the Swan Hill Tourism and Cultural Hub. Additionally, practical completion was achieved for the Butterworth Street Drainage and Road Upgrade Works, as well as the Boundary Bend – Kooloonong Road Works.
"Another achievement during this period is the reactivation of the Robinvale Caravan Park Bank Protection project. We're now focused on completing the design phase paving the way for detailed scoping and budgeting.
"In renewable energy advancements, the solar panel installations at Swan Hill and Robinvale Aquatics and Recreation Centres have been completed. The impact of these installations will be monitored through power bills over the next six to twelve months to assess cost savings and benefits," Cr King added.
Cr King said all these achievements highlight Council's commitment to progressing key infrastructure and community initiatives while ensuring strong governance and sustainability practices.
"Over the past 15 months, Council has completed more than $13 million on projects that will which directly benefiting the community.
"We have another $24 million worth of projects expected to be rolled out in the next 12 to 18 months. Additionally, $5 million worth of projects are currently in the planning pipeline – it is an exciting time for our region.
"It's important to acknowledge that these projects would not be possible without the significant contributions from external funding bodies, as well as the support of the State and Federal Governments. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing commitment and partnership," Cr King said.
"The success of our funding applications is also testament to the dedication of our staff in keeping abreast of funding opportunities and building relationships with key Government departments. Delivering these projects is a real team effort across multiple Council departments," Cr King added.
