The Tasmanian Liberal Government is reducing the burden on event organisers and stallholders by establishing one permit to rule them all.
Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan, said the permit changes will make things a lot easier for festival and event organisers and stallholders.
"Getting approval for a music festival, food and wine event, or community market will be faster and simpler under this new process," Minister Duigan said.
"Under the new system, a new Tourism and Hospitality Event Permit will allow multi-vendor events to operate under a single permit.
"That will reduce the burden on individual stallholders and bring certainty and confidence to organisers.
"It's important that we bring liquor laws into the 21st century and remove outdated and paperwork heavy rules when it comes to events.
"We want to free up the time organisers and operators spend on paperwork so they can put that effort into making events bigger and better."
"This will ensure Tasmania's hospitality scene becomes even more vibrant for visitors and locals alike."
Minister Duigan said the new rules would strengthen protections where needed, while still cutting unnecessary red tape.
The change comes as part of the Government's major overhaul of the outdated liquor licence rules.
