A group of Orange teenagers will meet His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Patron of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award during his visit to Sydney on Tuesday, 21 November.
His Royal Highness is set to meet the six Silver Duke of Edinburgh participants from Orange during his visit to the Sydney PCYC in Woolloomooloo, Sydney.
Orange Mayor Jason Hamling said it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the participants to meet Prince Edward and discuss their experience of the Duke of Ed Award with him.
"His Royal Highness Prince Edward's visit to Sydney is an incredible opportunity for our local kids to meet him and discuss with him life skills learned through The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award," Cr Hamling said.
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is a youth development program, empowering all young Australians from 14 to 24 to explore their full potential and find their purpose, passion and place in the world, regardless of their location or circumstance.

The meeting with the Prince is part of The Adventurous Journey section of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, encouraging a sense of discovery while exploring an unfamiliar and challenging environment with an agreed team goal.
The Orange group is in charge of their trip to Sydney, including organising transport and accommodation and also finding some cultural sites to explore during their three-day trip.
More than 775,000 young people have participated in the Award in Australia in the past 58 years.
