Six state schools will be closed tomorrow due to the threat of bushfires, Education Minister Grace Grace has announced.
Those schools are:
- Beechmont State School
- Pozieres State School
- Linville State School
- Ballandean State School
- Glen Aplin State School, and
- Severnlea State School.
Ms Grace said seven other Stanthorpe state schools and one Catholic School that were closed today were due to re-open Tuesday.
"The decision to close schools is never taken lightly, but our number one priority remains the safety of students, staff and their families," Ms Grace said.
"We will continue to liaise closely with emergency services personnel and the local disaster management group and take further action if required."

Ms Grace said parents and caregivers concerned about traveling to or from their local school in the current conditions should act in the interests of safety.
"I strongly encourage everybody to tune into their local ABC radio service for updates on bushfires and follow all advice from emergency services in your area," she said.
Ms Grace said parents, caregivers and children are being urged to not take risks and be especially cautious during bushfire conditions.
"I also urge families to be aware of potential risks to children with respiratory sensitivities, due to significant smoke and dust in the air. If you have any concerns, please contact your local GP for advice," Ms Grace said.
