Skate, Create, And Celebrate Youth Week In Shellharbour

Shellharbour City Council is excited to celebrate NSW Youth Week (9-17 April) with a fantastic line-up of fun and free activities for young people aged 12-24 years.

Shining a light on local young creatives, Youth Week kicks off with the launch of the Youth Art and Design Exhibition on Wednesday 9 April at the Shellharbour Civic Centre. The exhibition features incredible artwork from local young artists, including sculpture, ceramics, photography, textiles, animation and more. It will run until 30 April.

Shellharbour Mayor Chris Homer is looking forward to seeing the community come together for Youth Week.

"Youth Week is a time to celebrate the creativity, energy and talent of our young people. It's a chance for them to connect, express themselves and enjoy being part of our vibrant community." Mayor Homer said.

"We're so lucky to have such a passionate and creative group of young people in Shellharbour. I encourage everyone to get involved, have some fun, and try something new."

This is a great opportunity for local youth to connect with others in the community and try something different.

This year's theme, "I am ____________. We are the future, and the future is now!", highlights the importance of celebrating each young person's unique strengths. It also encourages young people to recognise their individual and collective power as our current and future influencers, leaders, and decision makers.

A range of exciting activities will be happening across Shellharbour, including roller skating, art workshops, Easter Crafternoon, music masterclass, photo workshops and more.
