Sneaths Road, Wollongbar reopened to one lane: Ballina Shire

Sneaths Road, Wollongbar reopened to one lane

Council has reopened Sneaths Road in Wollongbar to one lane of traffic, with temporary traffic lights in place.

The road was closed following a landslip that occurred during the March floods.

Council thanks the community for their patience while we completed initial geotechnical investigations. Following these geotechnical investigations and assessment Council has been able to reopen a single lane.

However, Council will continue to monitor the road and if conditions change the road may be closed again.

Council has a number of landslips across the shire and is working towards completing the geotechnical investigations, designs and reconstruction for the safe reinstatement of roads as soon as possible. These works may take some time and will depend on Council resourcing.
