2024 Country Education Foundation of Australia - Snow Foundation scholars Axel Nurdin, Georgia Tindall, Kiara Henderson and Francine Magsino.
We acknowledge the passing of Terry Snow AM, Snow Foundation founder. Terry was deeply committed to supporting scholarships, recognising their role in helping rural and regional students achieve their educational goals. Terry's contribution to the community through Snow Foundation has left a lasting impact. At CEF we are especially grateful for the impactful contribution he made for so many young people and their communities across regional NSW.
His legacy lives on through the Foundation's work and the young people supported by the Snow Foundation-CEF Scholarships.
More Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEF) students from southern NSW are closer to making their dreams a reality with additional scholarships available to them, with CEF and The Snow Foundation extending their partnership for another five years.
From 2025, the superseded agreement will see 29 scholarships awarded and will also support CEF with seed funding to help establish a prospective local foundation in southern NSW.
The annual scholarships will be awarded to CEF students from Eurobodalla Shire along with students from existing local foundations in Shoalhaven, Snowy Monaro, Yass, Goulburn and Braidwood.
Georgina Bryon, CEO, of Snow Foundation, said it was an exciting opportunity to grow their major partnership with CEF and support more young people from rural and regional areas.
"Scholarships are a key focus for Snow Foundation ensuring all individuals, regardless of their background have equal access to education opportunities and resources to reach their goals", she said.
CEF CEO, Wendy Mason, said Snow Foundation's increased support meant more youth from southern NSW would be able to pursue their educational goals.
"This support will enable us to support more youth in new and existing communities, open their horizons and ensure they don't miss out on post-school education and employment just because they live in a regional community," she said.
"Snow Foundation has partnered with CEF for many years now and its commitment to increasing its support will make a huge difference across our footprint. We thank them for their continued support of CEF and belief in regional youth and communities."
