COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,861 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 18,303 active cases in South Australia.
There are 100 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including ten people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 59 people are fully vaccinated, 20 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 21 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 11,040 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 1.3% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,365 PCR tests were positive, while 496 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.1% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 68.8% of eligible South Australians and 57.5% of South Australians aged 16+.
