An Edithburgh dad experienced a restless night filled with disbelief and excitement after discovering he had won a life-changing $1 million in the Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw on December 27, 2023. The South Australian resident was one of the four lucky national winners of the draw, each securing a division one prize.
The fortunate winner expressed his shock and joy when contacted by lotto officials this morning.
“I haven’t slept! I checked my ticket after the draw and kept looking at my phone saying, ‘this isn’t real’.
“I just kept looking at my ticket. There were too many zeros there!
“You always dream about winning but never think it’s going to happen.
“I’ve had these numbers for years. I picked them a long time ago, but I don’t remember where they came from.”
The loving dad struggled to hold back his tears when he contemplated the enormity of his prize and how he’d use it.
“It’s big,” he said.
“I’ll help the kids out.
“I’d also like to finish the house off.”
