Good news for Brunswick Heads with the resurfacing of South Beach Lane now added to the South Beach Road upgrade along the Brunswick Heads foreshore.

Initial gravel works will start on South Beach Lane on Monday 7 July with road sealing works scheduled to start on Monday 21 July, weather permitting.

The asphalting of South Beach Road is scheduled to start on Monday 14 July, also subject to weather.

"It makes sense to get South Beach Lane resealed while we have machinery, crews and access on site for South Beach Road and with all of this in mind we've secured the additional budget we need to get it done," Council's Director Infrastructure Services, Phil Holloway, said.

South Beach Lane will be closed to traffic during the works, with residents excepted via traffic control.

However, the car parking area on South Beach Lane will not be resurfaced as part of these works due to drainage issues that require further investigation and additional funding. Council will soon engage in discussions to determine the future use of this area.

"We will be working to get the issues surrounding South Beach Lane resolved by Council as soon as we can so we can move forward with a plan for repair and upgrade of that section of road," Mr Holloway said.
