Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a South Coast man for alleged possession of child abuse material under Strike Force Trawler.
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by Sex Crimes Squad's Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.
In July 2024, strike force detectives commenced an investigation into a 48-year-old man following a referral from the United Kingdom via the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE).
About 7.15am yesterday (Wednesday 12 February 2025), investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Kings Point where they arrested a 48-year-old man.
The man was taken to Ulladulla Police Station where he was charged with possession of child abuse material.
He was refused bail to appear in Nowra Local Court today (Thursday 13 February 2025).
