South Coast police are appealing for information following a suspicious bushfire near Eden earlier today.
About 11.30am on Monday 3 February 2025, emergency services were called to Broadwater Road, Nethercote, near the Pacific Link Fire Trail – about 10km north of Eden – following reports of a bushfire.
An area of bushland was burnt and spread at a rapid face before the blaze was extinguished by the NSW Rural Fire Service and officers from Forestry NSW.
No injuries were reported.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and are treating the blaze as suspicious.
As investigations continue, police are urging anyone may have witnessed any persons or vehicles along the Broadwater Road and surrounding fire trails near Nethercote, or anyone who may have dashcam footage capturing vehicles or persons around that time to contact Bega Detectives or Crime Stoppers.
