The South Goulburn Shared Path Project is a Grant Funded Project - 'Get NSW Active' managed by Transport for NSW (TfNSW). This project is entirely funded by the State Government with no contribution from Goulburn Mulwaree Council. The project has also been reviewed and endorsed by the Local Traffic Committee.

The location of the raised pedestrian crossing in Auburn Street has been carefully selected in conjunction with TfNSW so that it provides the most beneficial outcome for use by the wider community.

At its meeting on 19 March 2024 Council awarded Tender 2324T0008 for the design and construction of shared paths at Eastgrove and South Goulburn, for the lump sum price of $2,899,028.00 (GST Exclusive). The agenda and minutes can be found here.

The project is also part of the Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP) and Shared Path Strategy which was adopted by Council on 9 April 2024. The PAMP can be found here. Details of the Auburn Street component can be found on page 22, Table 2-5 and map G17.

Council staff are currently considering the current alignment and any alternative that will provide the most beneficial outcome for use by the wider community, deliver the outcomes as desired by TfNSW, and not jeopardise the current contract.

Council has engaged with Goulburn South Public School as well as residents who will be directly effected by these works.
