Dunsborough Police have charged a 38-year-old woman with 32 offences as the result of an investigation into a series of fraudulent transactions in the South West District.
During the time of offending, the accused was employed as a receptionist at an eco-resort on Hamersley Road in Naturaliste.
It will be alleged, between August 2023 and March 2024, the accused unlawfully obtained details from several credit cards linked guests who stayed at the resort.
The card details were used to make numerous purchases, totalling $3486. The accused further attempted to purchase goods in excess off $5,000, however these transactions were immediately flagged as fraudulent.
It will be further alleged the accused gained access to the business eftpos machine 13 times, refunding a total of $14,151 to her bank account.
About 10am on 17 April 2024, Dunsborough Police conducted a search warrant at an address in Yallingup where the 38-year-old woman was arrested.
She has been charged with 13 counts of Stealing as a Servant, 11 counts of Fraud and eight counts of Attempted Fraud.
The 38-year-old Yallingup woman is due to appear before the Busselton Magistrates Court on 7 May 2024.
Inquiries are ongoing and police urge anyone who believes they have been a victim of fraud related crime to report in person to their local police station or online via the ReportCyber wesbite.
