South West towns set to save with free waterwise offers

• 13 South West communities now eligible for free water-saving offers
• Record 47 regional towns included in Water Corporation's Waterwise Towns Program
• Program supports regional households to save water and lower bills
• Participating South West towns saved 33 million litres of water in 2022-23

Residents in 13 South West towns can now take advantage of free water-saving offers as part of Water Corporation's Waterwise Towns Program which this year is available to a record 47 regional WA communities.

The annual program, which last year saved 33 million litres of water in the South West, provides tailored offers to help regional Western Australians reduce water use and lower their bills.

Offers available in all participating South West towns include a free Showerhead Swap program, allowing households to exchange two old, inefficient showerheads for waterwise alternatives. Last year, 206 South West residents swapped 296 showerheads saving almost four million litres of water.

South West residents can also claim rebates for the purchase of a new rainwater tank, or to plumb in or replace an existing tank.

In addition, Water Corporation customers in Bridgetown, Manjimup, Northcliffe and Pemberton can take advantage of free irrigation and plumbing services designed to help save water inside and outside the home.

Since its inception in 2013, the Waterwise Towns program has saved around 1.8 billion litres of valuable drinking water State-wide - equivalent to 812 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

Registrations for irrigation and plumbing services are open until 1 May 2024, with rainwater tank rebates and Showerhead Sap offers available until31 May 2024.
