Southern Cross University has launched a new partnership with Poornima University, the official university partner of the esteemed Indian cricket team, the Rajasthan Royals.
The collaboration seeks to promote education through sport and global academic outreach. Students at Poornima University, located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and students at Southern Cross University's Faculty of Business, Law and Arts will benefit from joint doctoral degrees, enhancing research opportunities and enabling access to a wider range of academic resources, PhD mentorship, joint conferences and international exchange programs.
While Indian students will have the opportunity to study a Masters degree at Southern Cross University, the collaboration will also provide opportunities for domestic Southern Cross students to study in India through immersion programs.
The partnership with the Rajasthan Royals will also provide opportunities for student engagement and research on sports analytics and events management, and the promotion of education through the Indian Premier League.
Pro-President of Poornima University, Dr Manoj Gupta, said the partnership is a giant leap in their commitment to providing transformative education to their students.
"By joining hands with Southern Cross University and Rajasthan Royals, we aim to create a truly global academic ecosystem," he said.
Southern Cross University Associate Dean (International and Engagement) for the Faculty of Business, Law and Arts, Professor Darshana Sedara said, "this collaboration represents the best of academia and industry coming together. It paves the way for innovative research, academic excellence, and unparalleled opportunities for students worldwide".
