A one-off special screening of local hit film The Island of Doctor Moron is set to wow fans and raise funds for the local Police and Community Youth Centre.
Local film producers, Chris and Lyn Dockrill are generously donating the proceeds from a special screening of their film to raise funds for PCYC Kempsey and Kempsey Shire Council is proud to sponsor this event as part of their ongoing support for the vital work of the centre.
The high energy musical focuses on the surreal and crazy adventures of a couple stranded on a mysterious south sea island, including its unique scientist Dr Moron who is dedicated to releasing "the beast in us all."
Since its premiere in 2014, Moron has screened in 18 international film festivals across 11 countries.
It has received numerous nominations and awards, the most recent being in December and January, including Best Director and Best Costume at the Antwerp International Film Festival. The film also won Best Director at the World Independent Cinema Awards in the UK.
The screening of the film will take place at 4pm Sunday 2 May at Riverside Cinema with tickets including drinks and refreshments at the Country University Centre downstairs at Port Central from 2:30pm.
