Speed Up Retirement: Geelong Man Takes Lotto Windfall

A Geelong man's routine coffee break took a million-dollar turn when he discovered he was a lucky winner in the weekend's $20 million TattsLotto Superdraw.

The Victorian is now nearly $1 million richer, having secured one of the 21 division one winning entries, each pocketing $952,380.96, in the draw on July 27, 2024.

“It feels kind of weird – a little bit surreal. Stuff like this doesn’t happen to people like me,” he shared when speaking to a lotto official.

“Oh my god! It’s insane!

“I had no idea. I was making my morning coffee and still getting sleep out of my eyes when I got a message to check my ticket.

“I’ve been using these numbers in different combinations for a while. It’s a couple of family birthdates and numbers like that.

“I still work but this might speed up my retirement plans.

“I’ve got some thinking to do and am going to need a strong coffee!

“This is not a bad interruption to my morning, that’s for sure!”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4489 on 27 July 2024 were 4, 37, 45, 27, 11 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 10.
