Heavy Vehicle Unit police have nabbed a speeding driver in Ravenswood this morning as part of Operation Argus.
Police clocked the Nissan X-Trail travelling at 138km/h in a 100km/h section of the Calder Highway about 8.50am.
The officers intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the 43-year-old driver from Leitchville.
She has received a $620 fine for speeding, a $413 fine for driving an unroadworthy vehicle and had her licence suspended for six months.
The intercept was part of Operation Argus, which focuses on impaired driving, motorcycles, excessive speed, driver distraction and not wearing seatbelts.
The state-wide operation will run for four days from 12.01am on Thursday 5 September to 11.59pm on Sunday 8 September.
