Bendigo Highway Patrol members have impounded a man’s car after he was caught travelling at more than double the speed limit in Shelbourne this morning, Victoria Police say.
Members were patrolling on Bendigo-Maryborough Road about 10.45am when they detected a Holden SS utility allegedly travelling at 201km/h in a 100km/h zone.
Police activated their lights and the driver, a 33-year-old man from Eddington, immediately pulled over.
The man had his car impounded and will be facing costs of up to $1400 to get it back in a month’s time.
He is expected to be charged on summons for speed dangerous and exceeding the speed limit.
