Wangaratta Highway Patrol members nabbed a man for excessive speed and drink driving in Rutherglen yesterday afternoon.
Police were patrolling the Murray Valley Highway about 12.35pm when they observed a car travelling at 151km/h in a 100km/h zone.
Members spoke to the driver, a 35-year-old Strathmerton man, who underwent a preliminary breath test.
He was taken to a local station for an evidentiary test where he returned an alleged reading of 0.110%.
His car was impounded at a cost of $1105 and his licence was immediately suspended.
He is expected to be summonsed to appear at a Magistrates Court at a later date for traffic related offences.
