Sydney, Australia – Sphere has assumed full control over its manufacturing operations by transitioning to in-house production through its partnership with Carasel. This strategic move is designed to strengthen Sphere's manufacturing capabilities, supporting the rapid scaling of HubX development and delivery. In addition, Sphere has been among the first to test DJI's newly launched Dock 3 at Carasel, giving them an operational edge in delivering advanced drone solutions.
Integrating design, engineering, manufacturing, and early Dock 3 testing under one roof enables stronger operational synergies for Sphere, streamlining processes and accelerating innovation cycles—key factors in delivering HubX efficiently and effectively.
Carasel's advanced facilities, featuring precision sheet metal fabrication, robotic machining, powder coating, and custom assembly, play a crucial role in this integration. These capabilities, combined with infrastructure designed for end-to-end production and handling of locally sourced materials, ensure Sphere can maintain consistent, high-quality output while supporting rapid delivery schedules.
Importantly, this decision reflects Sphere's commitment to being Australian made — supporting local jobs, fostering homegrown innovation, and ensuring the solutions are built to meet the specific needs of Australian industries.
Paris Cockinos, CEO of Sphere, shared his thoughts: "Taking manufacturing operations in-house marks a pivotal moment for Sphere. Our early testing of DJI Dock 3 at Carasel also means we're ahead of the curve, ready to integrate the latest technologies into our offerings. This shift strengthens our ability to scale the development and delivery of HubX, allowing us to speed up innovation cycles and ensure consistent, high-quality solutions. It's also a proud commitment to being Australian made; keeping production local means we can better meet the needs of our customers and support the broader Australian tech industry."
Further highlighting this progress, we're proud to announce that HubX has officially launched on the DJI Enterprise Ecosystem. This is a world's first for a Drone-in-a-Box solution being featured on this global platform. This inclusion, paired with Sphere's early access to DJI Dock 3, demonstrates the strength and innovation behind HubX, providing enhanced opportunities for their clients to leverage industry-leading solutions within a trusted global ecosystem.
Katie Selby, Managing Director of Carasel, commented: "Partnering with Sphere has been a rewarding experience. We're so proud to be Australian made and love how Paris makes this a priority. We're excited to see Sphere leading the charge with early DJI Dock 3 testing, and we are confident that their move to in-house manufacturing will support their ambitious goals for HubX."
To support this operational shift and ensure they meet HubX delivery schedules, Sphere has relocated their production facilities to Seven Hills. This move positions them to meet project timeframes more effectively and underscores their dedication to providing reliable and high-quality service.
As they continue to grow, Sphere remains committed to driving innovation and delivering exceptional solutions to their clients. With their enhanced manufacturing capabilities and pioneering work with DJI Dock 3, Sphere is ready to take HubX to the next level and support their customers more effectively than ever.
