Spirit of Tasmania's Black Friday campaign has resulted in more than 17,000 people booking travel over Bass Strait.
The campaign, which launched on 18 November and concludes shortly on 2 December, offered 50 per cent off passenger fares and cabins for travel between 1 February and 30 June next year.
Almost 70 per cent of these bookings are people coming from the mainland.
Minister for Transport, Eric Abetz, welcomed the news, saying this was a win for the entire State.
"We have succeeded in enticing more passengers to board the Spirit of Tasmania in early 2025," Minister Abetz said.
"This is tens of thousands of travellers spending money in Tasmanian businesses, in Tasmanian accommodation and in the Tasmanian economy.
"This is a win for all Tasmanians who can expect a steady flow of tourists embarking on a great Tasmanian adventure.
"When paired with the extra 28 sailings scheduled for the Spirits during 2025, we are maximising the opportunity at hand.
"We know that there has been a general softening of demand in recent times, which is what makes these figures particularly pleasing.
"April was the most popular month for the discounted fares, followed by February and March.
"Our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future works hard to get the best value for Tasmanians – today's news embodies this approach."
