The health, wellbeing and development of young people is at the heart of a brand new $6.46 million Youth Centre opening in Ellenbrook today.

The McGowan Government invested a total of $4.27 million to help get the Ellenbrook Youth Centre project off the ground.

The project received $1.86 million through the WA Recovery Plan and $2.05 million through Lotterywest's COVID-19 Relief Fund with the City of Swan contributing the remainder.

The project received an additional $180,000 from the McGowan Government and a further $183,000 from Lotterywest towards the project.

The Youth Centre has been co-designed by young people for young people and includes a range of services such as basketball and netball courts, a creative studio, an open recreational space and activity rooms.

The design of the state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility has a strong focus on connection, providing a safe and welcoming recreational space to keep young people active, healthy and connected.

Importantly, it is also linked to a range of community services such as counselling, financial advice and employment training.
