Sport Integrity Australia CEO David Sharpe has welcomed the Australian Institute of Sport on the Concussion and Brain Health Position Statement.
The Youth and Community Sport Guidelines, which form part of the updated AIS Concussion and Brain Health Position Statement, provides guidance to all involved in sport from the community to the elite level when it comes to managing concussion.
Mr Sharpe said the guidelines provide a clear and consistent message:
"I believe the priority for all involved in sport is the safety of athletes, the AIS guidelines should be adopted by every National Sporting Organisation in Australia, and I congratulate the NSOs and major sporting bodies who have already endorsed the plan," Mr Sharpe said.
